Reports in the Daily Telegraph suggest that Surrey’s Jamie Smith will keep wicket for England in the first Test against West Indies starting at Lord’s on 10 July.
23-year-old Smith has batted No.4 for Surrey this year, mostly sandwiched between Ollie Pope and Ben Foakes, scoring 507 runs at 50.7 at a strike rate of 76.93. Overall Smith has scored more than 3,000 first-class runs at a touch over 40.
