Surrey stretch their lead

Surrey took a big step towards a third straight Championship title by thrashing relegation-threatened Lancashire by an innings and 63 runs at The Oval.
The victory, sealed before tea on day four, extended the reigning champions’ lead to 35 points with four matches to play.
Having dismissed the visitors for 204, Rory Burns made a career-best 227 as Surrey piled on 4449 declared, Ben Foakes supporting the skipper with a well-crafted 82.
