SELF-PROCLAIMED as the only cricket club in the world to play its home games on a beach, Ship Inn Cricket Club have been sizzling on the sand at Elie in Fife, Scotland, for over 30 years.
Usually playing matches of 30-overs-a-side, they bill their cricket as “a unique experience for visiting teams and spectators alike.”
A pub team, their 2023 calendar features 14 matches, with them playing every second weekend throughout the season, with play only possible during low-tide.
