CHARLOTTE Edwards will captain a 16-strong squad to tour New Zealand next month.
England will play three ODIs and three t20 internationals, starting on February 7 with a one-day clash in Benoni.
Edwards will captain the squad, which sees a return for her Kent team-mate Tammy Beaumont for the t20 clashes.
Beaumont is the sole addition to the squad that lost the Ashes to Australia on home soil last summer 10-6.
Nine players who are currently taking part in the inaugural Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) in Australia will join their England team-mates in South Africa at the end of January.
Ten years after making her ODI debut against India at Lord’s, Sussex wicket-keeper batsman Sarah Taylor is in line to win her 100th cap in the second match of the series at Centurion.
Taylor has impressed in the WBBL so far this season while skipper Edwards currently sits third in the run scoring charts.
Squad: Charlotte Edwards (capt), Tammy Beaumont (T20s only), Katherine Brunt, Kathryn Cross (ODIs only), Georgia Elwiss, Lydia Greenway, Rebecca Grundy, Jenny Gunn, Danielle Hazelle, Amy Jones, Heather Knight, Natalie Sciver, Anya Shrubsole, Sarah Taylor, Lauren Winfield, Danielle Wyatt
Only 8 of the girls in Australia are actually going to South Africa!
Have just watched another England collapse.Again excuses, why?
Can I ask, what is the new coach telling this England team,I wonder.
England had this semi final in their control.
A continuing set of excuses, quite rediculous and irrsponsible batting,by the middle order,no need to panic, given the perfect start by the openers.
Having played, all be it ,club cricket all my life, even at my level we would have been taken to task, with slap dash batting down the order.one has witnessed today.
Just listening to the new coach, again offering excuses, sorry stupid irresponsible batting.
Admit it England lost for that reason alone.Come on acknowledge this and England can progress.Charlotte Edwards must be so dissapointed.
