McCullum rejoins Middlesex for Blast

BRENDON McCullum will be back at Lord’s this summer having agreed to rejoin Middlesex for nine T20 Blast group matches.

McCullum, 35, retired from international cricket last year having played in six Blast games for Middlesex in 2016. During those half dozen matches he averaged 33, top scoring with 87.

The former New Zealand captain said: “I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Middlesex last season and it was an easy decision for me to make when the opportunity arose to return to the Home of Cricket.”

McCullum played 101 Tests for New Zealand as well as 260 ODIs, scoring over 14,000 runs in all formats. And Middlesex are looking forward to welcoming him back.

Director of cricket Angus Fraser said: “Brendon had a hugely positive influence on the club in 2016 and I’m sure he will have a similar impact this summer.

“With Brendon on board and the other exciting players we have, watching Middlesex play T20 cricket in 2017 should be an exciting and enjoyable experience.”
