Ifirst started playing cricket with my Dad, Michael Snr. He was a minor counties player and played for Hartlepool.
I followed the team as a kid, home and away, and took a cricket bat around to play with my mates – that was my earliest cricketing memory.
I was probably 14 or 15 when I thought of pursuing cricket as a profession. I was asked to go to the England U15s training camp and began to play well and things sort of snowballed.
