Recruits: Jim Troughton

BOWLERS Grant Thornton and Mitchell Spencer have been awarded their first professional contracts after Warwickshire signed the 24- year-old pair on three-month deals.
Thornton made his firstteam debut in Warwickshire’s One-Day Cup win over Northants last week, although Spencer is yet to play for the County Championship Division One side.
The Bears began their quest to win their first County Championship since 2012 with successive defeats, followed by a battling draw against Surrey before the One-Day Cup got underway last week.
