PLAY was suspended at the Oval yesterday after a crossbow bolt was fired onto the pitch, causing a major security alert.
Players were rushed from the pitch with spectators at Surrey’s clash with Middlesex advised to find cover inside.
The 14in arrow was thought to have been fired from outside the stadium with armed police soon arriving.
