THE traditional season opener is to move from the UAE to Barbados with both the North- South Series and MCC Champion County match headed to the Caribbean.
Essex will take on an MCC XI in a four-day, day-night fixture at Bridgetown’s Kensington Oval, following the three match one-day North-South Series in March.
Barbados’ most famous son, Sir Garfield Sobers has welcomed the decision to take the season opener to his home ground.
