THE announcement of a touring squad used to be preceded by anticipation and expectation as supporters eagerly awaited the news on radio or TV.
Nowadays, the list of players seem to be readily available a few days before and most newspapers have correctly reported the squad in their morning editions. Similar occurrences happen when a Test team is chosen.
The element of surprise seems to have gone. What a shame that our national selection committee leaks like a sieve.
