I REALLY can’t understand the workings of the Duckworth/Lewis system.
In the second Women’s ODI against Australia, a rain break caused four overs to be lost. But the target to chase was only reduced by 12, making an assumption that the team would be scoring at a rate of just three an over!
Surely logic would have decreed a reduction of around 23 or 24 runs as Australia had made 296 in their 50 overs, at almost six an over.
But, there again, whenever has logic had anything to do with Duckworth/Lewis?
