Houghton hopes the reemergence of the country as a genuine power in the world game doesn’t take as long.
Houghton, now a coach at Middlesex, still holds the record individual score for the country, 266 against Sri Lanka in 1994. He has, though, watched from afar as a generation have turned their back on the game as a result of the country’s economic collapse under Mugabe.
