SOME people would have you believe that Anthony McGrath is on a hiding to nothing in taking over as head coach at Essex.
After all, Essex have just won the County Championship for the first time in 25 years, shocking the big boys in Division One under the tutelage of Chris Silverwood.
But McGrath’s former Yorkshire teammate has now left for England to take over as bowling coach and the vacancy at Chelmsford was too good for him to turn down.
