READING the Kent chief executive James Clifford’s comments about signing new players and, in particular, Kolpaks is rather depressing.
Clifford said: “We’ve always shied away from Kolpaks but I think we’re accepting the world is changing. It’s all very well taking the moral high ground but if you’re not coming out the right side performance wise you probably have to re-adjust.”
The 2017 season saw an influx of players signing on Kolpak or similar deals but at what cost to English cricket.
