MANY dozens of tributes have been paid this week to the memory of Dave Callaghan, the Yorkshire cricket commentator, who died on Monday at the age of only 63.
Dave was one of the most respected and popular figures in Yorkshire cricket, the main passion of his career in journalism which lasted for more than 40 years.
A former Sports Editor of BBC Radio Leeds, Dave commentated on more than 400 County Championship games and observed with enthusiasm and expertise several outstanding achievements in Yorkshire’s recent history.
