NOW that Jonny Bairstow is back with the England squad, it means that Andy Hodd, Yorkshire’s regular keeper, can reclaim his place.
The 34-year-old, who joined Yorkshire on loan in 2012 from Sussex, where he appeared in the Championship-winning sides of 2006 and 2007, can look forward to being picked consistently.
Hodd’s move to Headingley, where he won successive Championship titles in 2015 and 2016, came at the right time because personally and professionally Yorkshire’s keeper was at rock bottom.
