Honouring a great: A bronze statue of WG Grace is set to be built in Bristol

IT may have taken 111 years but WG Grace could soon be making a return to the county he called home.
The great man won’t be returning in a playing capacity – a feat beyond even the most fabled player of his or almost any other generation – but a bronze bust of the Downend-born king of batsmanship could soon be sitting outside the pavilion at Bristol.
At least that’s the hope.
