NED Eckersley has revealed his pride at being appointed as Durham’s new red-ball captain. Eckersley has succeeded Cameron Bancroft who has not returned to the club due to the coronavirus crisis. “It’s a great honour to be named Durham captain,” he said. “Having been only up here for around 18 months, it has been great to be involved in the club, but also the region.
