LANCASHIRE have given debuts to six talented youngsters in this year’s Bob Willis Trophy and none of them has looked more at home playing first-class cricket than George Balderson. Nine wickets and 156 runs may not seem particularly startling figures but the 19-year-old Mancunian has dismissed some fine batsmen in his five matches and a series of mature innings was capped on Tuesday evening when Balderson reached his maiden first-class fifty against Derbyshire at Aigburth, even ending the day with a huge straight six off Matt Critchley.
