FORMER Ireland, England, Warwickshire and Derbyshire pace bowler Boyd Rankin has retired at the age of 36.
Rankin played in one Ashes Test for England but was a stalwart for Ireland – making 153 appearances.
“I feel now is the right time to step away,” he said. “I have put my heart and soul into playing cricket professionally since 2003 and have loved every minute of it.
