SAM Robson insists he still has an England Test recall in his sights after his career-best 253 for Middlesex against Sussex at Hove.
Opener Robson has been touted for a potential Ashes call this winter and did his chances no harm whatsoever with a magnificent record-breaking partnership with another forgotten former England man, Mark Stoneman.
The pair put on 376 for the opening wicket, beating Middlesex’s previous record of 372, set by Mike Gatting and Justin Langer against Essex at Southgate in 1998. Stoneman, on loan from Surrey, scored an impressive 174.
