Always leave them wanting more. Sam Northeast – still fresh from taking part in perhaps the most extraordinary match in the County Championship’s long history – laughs at the folly of a schedule that will now leave Glamorgan without a first-class match until 22 August.
“It has been bonkers, but in true English cricket style we don’t play another County Championship match for 50 days – we draw everyone in, then leave them hanging,” he says.
