The two-coach experiment always set up one to fail – and bringing the red and white ball sides under Brendon McCullum makes complete sense.
That’s the view of Paul Farbrace, England’s former assistant under Trevor Bayliss, who believes that a unified coaching team across all formats makes more sense than splitting the two roles.
The Kiwi architect of Bazball was appointed as England’s white ball supremo on Tuesday and will assume his dual-role in January 2025, with the ECB extending his contract across all formats until the end of 2027.
