AS YORKSHIRE, full of confidence, chase promotion back into Division One of the County Championship, their challenge is being spearheaded by opening bowler Ben Coad, one of the most accurate and frugal new-ball operators on the circuit.
Going into last week’s must-win game, Coad, 30, had been enjoying his most successful season for Yorkshire since making a big impact in 2017 and 2018, and an eight-wicket haul against Glamorgan – four in each innings – meant he has a division joint high 52 wickets at a remarkable 16.03 each.
