IT’S not been the season Haseeb Hameed would have hoped for so far, but he was at least able to strike a gritty 57 for the Lancashire Second XI this week.
The former England opener has just one halfcentury to his name for the Lancashire first team this season and has managed just 109 runs in 13 innings in the County Championship.
There may be a glimmer of light for Hameed though as he and Rob Jones put on 90 for the first wicket against Nottinghamshire at Liverpool on Wednesday.
