YORKSHIRE’S South African Test spinner Keshav Maharaj – currently playing in the last of his three Championship matches, against Division One leaders Somerset at Headingley – has experienced mixed fortunes with the county since signing a shortterm contract last month.
The 29-year-old slow left armer from Durban enjoyed a successful Yorkshire debut at Scarborough where Surrey were beaten, but that triumph was quickly followed by a heavy defeat at Chelmsford as Essex won by eight wickets.
