ON an unusually flat wicket at the Emirates Riverside, Durham were in need of inspiration in their attempt to defeat Leicestershire. Alex Lees’ brilliant 181 had put the home side in control after posting their highest score of the campaign, 544-9 declared. It was over to the bowlers to put James Franklin’s men on course for another win to propel them towards promotion.
