GLOUCESTERSHIRE were consigned to the also-rans when the season began but no one can doubt their promotion credentials after an eight-wicket win at Derby lifted them to second in Division Two.
Head coach Richard Dawson admits not many people outside the county’s boundaries gave his team a chance but three wins in a row have taken them 14 points clear of third-placed Northamptonshire who they play at Bristol in the final match of the season.
