Bas-ball comes to Durham

Five-and-a-half years ago, an 18-year-old Bas de Leede played what could have been the solitary first-class match of his career, when he represented the Netherlands in the ICC Intercontinental Cup.
Opportunities have been thin on the ground since then, but that is largely down to the tournament not being played since the 2015-17 cycle.
Bar eight non-professional red-ball games against county 2nd XIs for MCC Young Cricketers in 2019, opportunities in the pro game have come almost six years apart.
