Cricket Australia’s has capped their star off-spinner Nathan Lyon’s County Championship stint with Lancashire at just seven games.
The 36-year-old had signed with Lancashire to play the entire 2024 season across all three formats before discussion with Australia’s selectors saw that stint reduced to just seven red-ball matches.
Lyon said he was “pretty disappointed” especially as Lyon bowled just two overs in the rain-affected first match against Lancashire.
