IN ALL my years of cricket – and that’s quite a few – I honestly can not remember a Spring as wet as this.
It’s a nightmare for any coach or director of cricket who has had to cancel pre-season plans and seen valuable practice time limited by first the snow, then the rain, up and down the country.
Some of these guys play their first games in the coming days and may be under-cooked. We, though, have been lucky in that we don’t play our first game, against Middlesex, until April 20.
