THE CONTROVERSY around Michael Carberry’s absence from the Leicestershire team continues to swirl.
But Paul Horton – the man who has replaced him as captain – insists he would welcome the former England international back with open arms.
The 37-year-old Carberry only arrived at Grace Road permanently this season – after a spell on loan from Hampshire last year – and was handed a two-year deal and the captaincy.
But coach Paul Nixon opted to remove Carberry as skipper only two months into his tenure and replace him with Horton.
