With the sun shining and a brisk wind to dry out the surface, Kent’s third-wicket pairing of Joe Denly and Sean Dickson combined to add 208 in 56.4 overs – a Kent record for these matches, beating the county’s previous best of 186 set by Bill Ashdown and Leslie Ames at Edgbaston in 1934.
