AT THE end of a season in which they’ve come so close to glory, only to fall agonisingly short, Kent skipper Sam Billings is desperate for his team to get over the line this time. A loss to Hampshire in the One-Day Cup final at Lord’s followed by a quarter-final defeat to Lancashire in the Blast made the Spitfires this summer’s white-ball nearly men.
