CAMERON Bancroft’s stated goal of forcing his way back into the Australian Test set-up got off to sluggish start as Durham toiled on the opening day of their clash with Sussex at Chester-le-Street.
The Sussex bowlers didn’t need any additional help from sandpaper to tear through the hosts’ top order – Bancroft’s painstaking 33 from 159 balls the height of Durham resistance through a tricky first two sessions as they fell to 113-5 at tea.
