MARNUS Labuschagne cruised to a maiden County Championship century on day one of their season-opener against Northants.
The Australian 24-year-old, who signed as cover for compatriot Shaun Marsh for the first half of the summer, looked in complete control as the Welsh county reached 248-3 at tea.
It was a good day for new faces at Sophia Gardens as Billy Root also impressed on debut, the left-hander making an unbeaten half-century heading into the final session.
