Luke’s a proper Young gun

IT’S NOT every day that a 16-year-old scores a Premier League century but that’s exactly what Hyde batsman Luke Young did against Oulton Park.
In only his 12th contest in the top tier of the Cheshire County League, Young, who lost opening partner Tom Partridge first ball, hit 12 fours and four sixes in a remarkable knock, which set Hyde on their way to a 137- run win.
The hundred is another milestone in the already burgeoning career of Young, who followed in the footsteps of Joe Root and Alastair Cook by competing at the Bunbury Festival in 2018.
