SOMETIMES a shift in gear can bring with it renewed motivation, but as Durham and Leicestershire prepare to renew their red-ball season, it could well be much of a muchness.
The North East hosts sit fifth in the County Championship Division Two table, while a disappointing season leaves Leicestershire bottom of the pile.
With a red-ball record that would give great pleasure to the orderly out there Durham have thus far played ten, won four, lost four, drawn two, and sit almost as far off Lancashire at the top of the table as they do their upcoming opponents at the bottom.
