For 40 years Andrew Radd has been the reassuring voice of Northamptonshire Cricket for the BBC and a leading authority on the club, writing a series of books about its history.
Those fortunate to have shared a press box with ‘Radders’ speak of a man with genuine warmth and a love of cricket.
It was listening to BBC’s Test Match Special that led to him becoming besotted with the game as he was drawn in to the world vividly painted by the TMS commentary team.
