JONNY BAIRSTOW failed to impress on a rare Yorkshire outing after making just five on day one against Nottinghamshire. The wicket-keeper registered two scoring shots before cutting Zak Chappell to backward point.
But Yorkshire found a new hero in 23-year-old Jordan Thompson, out two runs shy of a remarkable century in his fourth first-class match.
