IAN Bell will take over as Warwickshire captain after Varun Chopra stood down from the role.
Chopra had been skipper since taking over from Jim Troughton in 2014 but England batsman Bell will now lead the side in all formats.
Bell, 33, has played 118 Tests for England but missed out on the squad to travel to South Africa and is set to fly to Dubai with Warwickshire for their pre-season tour.
Bell said: “The club and Edgbaston have been a huge part of my life since an early age and, in the past, I have made no secret of my desire to captain the Bears.
“I am very proud to now be given the opportunity to lead this exciting squad and to challenge for titles in all forms of the game.”
