Warwickshire to release pair of batsmen

Freddie Coleman and Jonathon Webb will both be searching for new counties this winter with Warwickshire deciding they will not offer the pair new contracts.

Coleman, 24 (pictured playing for Scotland), made one first-class appearance after signing his first professional contract in 2013 as well as four List A and four T20 appearances for the Bears.

Batsman Webb, who is also 24, played 11 games in Birmingham Bears’ victorious T20 Blast campaign in 2014, his debut season, and has also made two County Championship and one List A appearance.

Dougie Brown, Warwickshire Director of Cricket, said: “It’s always very disappointing to let young players go, but sadly opportunities for Freddie and Jonathon have been limited at senior level.

“We wanted to give both players the best possible opportunity to continue their careers in the game and our agreement ensures that Freddie and Jonathon can now speak to other clubs during the current domestic season.

“I would like to thank Freddie and Jonathon for their contributions for Warwickshire CCC and we all wish them the very best for the future.”
