New Zealand batsman Ross Taylor has re-signed for Sussex after spending last season at the county as an overseas player.
Taylor will be available for this summer’s Natwest T20 Blast, a competition in which he excelled last year.
The 33-year-old averaged over 56 in 2016, the highest in the competition, with a high score of 93 not out coming against Gloucestershire.
The competition will not begin until July this year and Sussex will be hoping they can progress past the group stages, where they were knocked out last year, with the help of Taylor.
“We are thrilled to have Ross joining us for the T20 competition,” Mark Davis, the Sussex head coach, said.
Taylor joins Sussex alongside Stiaan van Zyl, David Wiese and Laurie Evans.
“He was outstanding in the competition last season and to have him back is brilliant for the club,” Davies added. “Not only is Ross a world class player but a fantastic role model to our younger players.”
