Wheater’s hopeful Eagles can still soar

ESSEX are rooted to the bottom of the south group in the T20 Blast but wicketkeeper Adam Wheater is confident the Eagles can soar in the run-in and still snatch a quarterfinal berth.
It is extremely tight in the south this year, ahead of Thursday’s clashes only four points separated Somerset in second and the Eagles in last.
But the Chelmsford-based outfit, going so well in red ball cricket, boosted their chances last Friday with victory over Hampshire.
