Gidman calls time to take up coaching

WILL Gidman has announced he is calling time on his 11-year playing career to move into coaching at Kent.
The 33-year-old has taken the decision to work as a player-coach for the county’s second XI as Min Patel continues his involvement with the England Under-19 set-up.
Gidman has scored 5,000 runs across all formats and claimed a total of 276 wickets with his right-arm medium bowling.
He has been embedded with the seconds for much of this season, scoring 54 at Beckenham in a T20 against Sussex on June 28.
