NOTTINGHAMSHIRE Outlaws bowler Jake Ball believes his side thrive on a big occasion after they thrashed Birmingham Bears by 114 runs in the Vitality Blast at Edgbaston.
Notts notched 177-9 thanks largely to Samit Patel, who hit 41 off 30 balls, Ben Duckett (39 off 20) and Alex Hales’ 34 of 21 – with the latter two putting on 72 for the first wicket.
The Bears, who lost all-rounder Carlos Brathwaite to a positive Covid test, slipped to 19-5 in response before scrabbling to 63 all out inside 14 overs – their lowest ever T20 Blast score.
