BENNY Howell’s phenomenal spell helped Gloucestershire defend 171 to beat Middlesex by ten runs and leave the Seaxers rooted to the foot of the table.
Howell’s 3-23 from his four overs sent Gloucestershire into third in the South Group to revive their chances of qualifying for the quarter-finals.
