England men and women’s summer schedules for 2024 have been confirmed today, with the men to face the West Indies and Sri Lanka in test series following the T20 World Cup in North America.
England will face off against the two sides in three-match series, West Indies through to the end of July and Sri Lanka at the end of August and into early September.
The 2024 home international season will open with England Women and England Men hosting Pakistan in concurrent white-ball series.
Heather Knight’s team will start the international summer at Edgbaston as part of a three-match Women’s T20 Series against Pakistan Women in mid-May, before visiting The County Ground, Northampton and Headingley.
The two sides will then contest three One-Day Internationals later in the month. The series takes place at the same time that England Men make their final preparations for their ICC Men’s T20 World Cup title defence.
England Men defeated Pakistan Men to win the 2022 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup title in Melbourne last November, and fans will be treated to a four-match Men’s T20 Series between the two teams before Jos Buttler’s team fly out to the Caribbean and United States.
The side-by-side series against Pakistan will follow on from this summer’s Ashes, which have been staged alongside each other and have helped England Women achieve record ticket sales.
To build on the growing interest in the women’s game, England Women will play at a selection of high-capacity venues next summer, when they will also host New Zealand in a three-match Women’s ODI Series at the end of June and a five-match IT20 Series in early July.
England Women will play at 14 venues in total – from Chester-Le-Street in the north east to Hove on the south coast – before finishing their schedule with the fifth T20 against New Zealand Women at Lord’s on July 17.
Following the test summer for England, Australia will return for three T20s in mid-September before five ODIs take the international season to its conclusion at the end of the month.
Vitality Blast Finals Day will be staged at Edgbaston with the date to be confirmed.
Ticket sales activity is set to commence from August 30 with a Public Ballot for England Men’s and England Women’s international fixtures.
Richard Gould, ECB CEO, said: “After attracting record ticket sales this summer it is fitting that the England Women’s team will open the international season next year at an iconic venue such as Edgbaston.
“Next summer’s schedule will see England Women play at more venues and allow more people to see their heroes in action as we look to maintain the growth the women’s game deserves.
“Fans across England and Wales will also get to see our England Men’s world champions in action ahead of their T20 World Cup title defence, before three-match Test series against both West Indies and Sri Lanka.
“We are looking forward to another memorable summer which is set to finish with white-ball series against New Zealand for our England Women’s team and Australia for our England Men’s team.”
