A role as a bowling consultant looks set to be the future career path for Jimmy Anderson after he bows out of Test cricket in July.
The 700-wicket seamer, 41, remains a high-class performer but the challenge going forward is set to be to pass those skills on to the younger generation. Certainly, it would be foolish for the England hierarchy of Rob Key, Ben Stokes and Brendan McCullum to dispense with Anderson’s skills entirely.
