With the news of Jimmy Anderson’s impending retirement, the question is who will spearhead the England attack going forward.
The next Ashes series will take place Down Under in 2025-26 and head coach Brendan McCullum sees Australia as no country for old men and is seeking a younger, stronger and quicker bowling attack in the bid to regain the urn.
In an ideal world Jofra Archer’s return to fitness for the T20 World Cup would be timely. But the injury-ravaged paceman seems highly unlikely to play red-ball cricket again, partly because he is probably not prepared to risk his futur...
